Oh My Goodness… it’s been 3 years since our last post!
Obvs.. not much has happened in that time!
Well… We had a little girl… We sold our beloved cafe… We opened a high street Deli and Shop… we navigated our way through a pandemic and national lockdown.. then we had another child… a little boy…. so yeah… its been a quiet time…
Because of lockdowns etc.. we realised that not many people were aware that we had moved the cafe on to lovely new owners. We felt that it was time that we focused on our shop, and Deli project, and it was time for someone else to pour their energy into the cafe. We had the cafe for 7 years, we miss it, we miss the regulars and cafe life, but things move on. We wish Luke and Bethan all the best with “Bumbles Rest”. We’d also like to give out a HUGE thankyou to everyone that visited us in those 7 years.
Good news is though.. you’ll find all your Rattle Ghyll favourites (including staff!) 50 yards down the path at our shop. We’ve been here 2 years now (crazy), and opened July ‘19, just in time for the global pandemic. Thankfully, the amazing local population in Ambleside helped us through hard times, and now 2 years later, we have a buzzing little shop, busting at the seams with customers and produce!
Our vision was always to have a shop that was stocked full of ethically sourced, responsibly packaged goods. Using local suppliers, smaller suppliers as much as possible. We also wanted to offer a zero waste section, and a deli counter serving amazing salads, cheeses and pies, all still meat-free.
